ASC Welding Engineer Manager Recognized by the American Welding Society
Acoustical Sheetmetal Company is proud to share that our Welding Engineer Manager, Ryan Adams, was recently honored by the American Welding Society (AWS) for his dedication to the craft and contributions to the welding community.
During the event, he received recognition from Mark Sapp, AWS District 4 Director and Senior M&P Materials Engineer at NAVAIR FRC-East. With more than 44 years of experience and a welding engineering background from The Ohio State University, Sapp’s acknowledgment underscores the technical excellence and leadership represented within the ASC team.
Attendees also had the opportunity to hear from J.P. Christein, a retired structural engineer from Newport News Shipbuilding with 45+ years of experience. Christein has spent decades shaping industry standards as a Professional Engineer, Master Shipbuilder, Associate Technical Fellow, and long-time member and chair of AWS committees — including 35 years on the A2 Definitions and Symbols Committee and 25 years as Chair of the Symbols Committee.
Ryan expressed gratitude for the recognition and emphasized that the achievement reflects the collective strength of the ASC team, saying, “This award would have been very hard to obtain without the support of Acoustical Sheetmetal. Even though my name is on it, this was a group effort. I appreciate you all very much.”
This honor highlights not only his expertise, but also the culture of teamwork, craftsmanship, and commitment that defines ASC. Congratulations, Ryan! We’re honored to have you on the ASC team.
