Additional 135,000 Sq. Ft. of Manufacturing Space Added to Hudome Way Campus
VIRGINIA BEACH — Acoustical Sheetmetal Company (ASC) is celebrating the opening of its newest 135,000-square-foot manufacturing building as part of its expansion at Hudome Way. The new building sits adjacent to ASC’s corporate office and additional manufacturing building on their Hudome Way campus. Construction for the new building was done in partnership with WM Jordan and began in October 2022.
“The new building is a perfect addition to our growing operations,” said Margaret Shaia, CEO of ASC. “We continue to take on new and innovative projects for our clients, so the additional space and capabilities the new building provides is just one more way we can meet our clients’ evolving needs.”
One of the biggest goals with the new building was to create a space for increased production capacity, while also allowing for even larger jobs. The building is 35,000 square feet larger than their original Hudome Way building, which opened in early 2021, and complements the company’s existing 75,000 square feet of manufacturing space at its Production Road campus. It also features two 30-ton cranes and one 60-ton indoor crane.
The additional production space also brings new job opportunities to the area. ASC currently employs over 480 team members across both its campuses and is looking to bring on an additional 120. Open positions at ASC include options for welders, electricians, sheetmetal mechanics, and support techs.
The expansion reinforces ASC’s position as a leading manufacturer of sound attenuating and weather-protective enclosures for on-site power generation equipment.
